Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell works as a reporter for NBC News based out of Washington D.C. Mitchell has an undergraduate degree in English from University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell started her career as a reporter for KYW Radio and TV, Philadelphia in 1967. She joined the CBS station WDVM-TV (then WTOP) in Washington DC in 1976. The following year, she was general reporter at NBC News in Washington. In 1981, she began covering at the White House, and in 1988 she was appointed the chief congressional Correspondent. Mitchell was appointed the chief White House correspondent in 1992. And Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent at NBC News. Mitchell was a panelist for the TV show Meet the Press and also was the host for the program. Mitchell was a part of the panel during 1988 Presidential Debates between George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell was married Alan Greenspan the former chairman of Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has been awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Also in 2004, Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA), honored Mitchell for her role in the defense of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell reported on for the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988, during Ronald Reagan's two terms as president. Her coverage included a variety of important stories like the Iran-contra scandal, the budget and tax reform, as well as the arms control. She traveled extensively together with President Reagan for summits together with Mikhail Gorbachev.
